Robotic concrete LFAM inside a live airport logistics zone
A service and rest module for Milan Bergamo Airport concrete walls printed layer by layer inside a live airport logistics zone, with no conventional formwork.
Delivered by WASP (Italy) for SACBO Airport Authority. The first 3D-printed building constructed inside an operating airport. If it works there, it works in the UAE's most regulated environments.
Challenge
Deliver a functional service building inside an active airport environment meeting strict regulatory requirements while eliminating conventional formwork and reducing programme time.
Outcome
Full handover in 100 days from first conversation. 19-day print window. Lime-based mortar absorbs CO₂ during curing lower lifecycle carbon than standard cement. Direct proof point for UAE government and infrastructure procurement.
